I could sell these...

Image
I really want to sell these! They're very pretty and I feel confident in the quality of each set. I used a gold foil, alcohol ink, and purple foil, respectively. It's been a while since I felt like making earrings so it's fun to get something done. I now have so many earrings around the house that I have zero room to store them. The cool thing is that I will always be able to find a pair of earrings to wear 😅 ************** Fini.

Posts and Sparkles

💍I have a love for sparkles, especially on my earlobes. I think that must be why I prefer to wear sterling silver instead gold, rose gold, stainless steel. For the below earrings, I used the most perfect Sculpey Premo clay called "white gold glitter" and then used alcohol ink pens to add color and abstract designs to the slab before I used my flower cutter. I adore these so much that I made duplicates, something I rarely do. All told I think I made 6 pairs.  When I wear the flower shape I get the most compliments. It doesn't matter what color they are or what design is on them. 🌺 I’ve also been working very hard on learning to make fabulous post earrings. Maybe this jewelry line can be called "Amy's Black". ❤       My black cats are lucky, despite what you might think! A little bit of mica powder on the hearts on the right gi...

It's Better in Texas...apparently.

The degree to which I love making Texas earrings astonishes me.       I just cannot stop making them. I love how recognizable the shape is. When I see that shape, I can taste sausage and cheese kolaches, Whataburger onion rings, tamales from a van on the side of the road, and good refried beans. I can feel saltwater from the Gulf of Mexico drying on my arms and warmth on my skin. I remember many days applying aloe vera to sunburns, playing kickball in 90 degree heat and humidity, and the constant sheen of summer sweat, even in my scalp. I know to avoid 610 and 59 in Houston at any time of the day and the purple jellyfish balloons on a Texas beach. I miss crawfish boils (I've been to many) and  quinceañera  parties (even though I've only been to one). I miss seeing Texas flags everywhere, cowboy hats and cowboy boots. I suppose I will always be a Texas girl, through and through, to my core. I was made in Texas. I grew up in Texas. I will die in Texas (hopefu...
